Sandro’s career began in 2007 by co-founding the forward-thinking brand the “therinseout” — a collective of audio and visual enthusiasts focused on growing music culture in Calgary, Canada. Several successful and deeply fulfilling projects followed including an online magazine, podcast series and a range of curated events. Leading to the 2009 formation of “Modern Math,” a weekly audio/visual installation at various intimate venues the crew laid a founation for further involvement in the cultural landscape. The series played host to a variety of international artists and performers, while at the same time showcasing local talent from the audio and visual arts communities.
In 2012, Sandro began to focus his efforts on education and took on a role at a boutique music production school in Calgary. Sandro developed curriculum for and taught a number of courses focused on Ableton Live, a widely used audio production suite. He also developed and hosted workshops for various community groups including the Stepping Out program and AAFS (Autism & Aspergers Friendship Society). Since relocating to Toronto in 2015, he has continued to administer mentorship sessions, lessons and host small curated workshops. In January of 2019 Sandro was invited to provide his knowledge and expertise as part of the Red Bull Bass Camp studio team. His involvement saw the use of world renown studio equipment in a high profile state of the art facility. Assisting, collaborating and facilitating space with 20 inspiring creators from across the country.
Musically he continues to refine his studio practice and craft. Working both in collaboration and also on intentional solo productions and compositions. He exhibits works, DJ’s and performs live at various culture hubs, art spaces, clubs and festivals. He releases music under various alias’s and creates works that reach deep within (and also stretch beyond) the conventional club and dance floor structure. Always striving to build a body of work that is personal and intentional.
His design practice often mirrors his musical process... in more ways than one it comes full circle to round out the various skill sets he chooses to include in his day to day creative output. Typically putting energy into design categories consisting of; Graphic, Lighting, Spatial & Audio/Video and now leaning heavily into skin care and fragrance. He contributes to various studio efforts across the globe and consistently collaborates to execute on ideas and concepts big and small.
Most recently Sandro has been spending his time crafting a collection of bar soaps and personal wellness products. Under the mark ‘SSSOAPS’, Sandro has created a process in which to make natural , handmade, everyday products. This form is also a continuation of previous methods in which the research and design phase are instrumental in the growing array of end results.
